| Date: August 21, 1989 |
(Note: This Important Notice is being sent to Account Managers, Chairpersons, Deans and Chancellors. Please forward to others who have a need to know.)
The University has a compensation plan for internal consultants which permits payment up to ½% of their academic 10-month salary for each day of consulting on Federal programs. This is in accordance with the summer salary policy for compensation outside the academic year base salary. Persons on 12-month appointments would be paid up to ½% of 10/12ths of their annual salary per consulting day. This restriction applies to programs funded directly by the Federal government as well as projects receiving Federal funds even though the funds may come through state agencies or other sources.
